Parish Council celebrates new “Endurance Multi Rig” at Gray Rec after receiving £10,000 National Lottery funding

The Parish Council is celebrating the installation of some brand-new outdoor fitness equipment, following a National Lottery award of £10,000 from The National Lottery Community Fund, the largest funder of community activity in the UK, and funding from the Parish Council.

Upcoming Road Closures in Duffield

There are a number of roads set to be closed in Duffield over the bank holiday weekend, as residents celebrate the Queen's Platinum Jubilee with street parties.

Also, the Parish Council has been informed of road closures relating to water mains works affecting King Street/Hazelwood Road from 7th June, and the closure of Town Street for the Duffield Carnival on the 25th June.

New benches, barbecue stand and bin being installed at Eyes Meadow

Five new picnic benches are set to be installed at Eyes Meadow next week, in time for the Jubilee bank holiday weekend.

Over time the existing picnic benches had become damaged, partly due to the use of disposable barbecues but also from general weathering and wear and tear.

Road Closure notice - Makeney Rd, Milford

Please be aware that Makeney Road, Milford will be closed between its junction with Holly Bush Lane for a distance of 200 metres in a southerly direction from the 25th to 28th April 2022, to facilitate water main maintenance works.

Access will be maintained, whenever reasonably possible, on the affected length of road. The road will re-open as soon as the work is finished. This may be earlier than advertised.... Read More »

Railway engineering works affecting Duffield Station and local services over Easter weekend

Network Rail will be undertaking engineering work affecting Duffield Station and services in Derby and Derbyshire over Easter.

"Big Rig" Gray Rec play area funding achieved thanks to National Lottery grant

A new piece of play equipment is set to be installed soon at Gray Rec, thanks to funding from the National Lottery and the Parish Council.

The National Lottery 'Awards for all' grant of £10,000 has topped up the funds allotted to the project by the Parish Council, helping to realise a long-held ambition to install more play and exercise equipment for use by older teenagers and adults.
