Parish Council celebrates new “Endurance Multi Rig” at Gray Rec after receiving £10,000 National Lottery funding

The Parish Council is celebrating the installation of some brand-new outdoor fitness equipment, following a National Lottery award of £10,000 from The National Lottery Community Fund, the largest funder of community activity in the UK, and funding from the Parish Council.

Installed by Staffordshire company Sunshine Gym, the "Endurance Multi Rig" outdoor fitness station is the only one of its kind currently installed in the UK. The installation incorporates a new playing surface with the existing basketball hoop integrated into the design.

Duffield Parish Council Chairman Roger Harrison, and Vice-Chair of the Outdoor Management Committee Yvonne Greenwood, are pictured. Cllr Harrison said ""Thanks to National Lottery players, this grant means that we can give Duffield's teenagers and adults a much-needed extra play space alongside the existing under-12s play area, something that residents have told us they wanted for some time."

National Lottery players raise over £30 million a week for good causes across the UK. The National Lottery Community Fund distributes a share of this to projects to support people and communities to prosper and thrive. During the pandemic, in 2020 alone, The National Lottery Community Fund distributed almost £1 billion to charities and community organisations across the UK.
