New benches, barbecue stand and bin being installed at Eyes Meadow

Five new picnic benches are set to be installed at Eyes Meadow next week, in time for the Jubilee bank holiday weekend.

Over time the existing picnic benches had become damaged, partly due to the use of disposable barbecues but also from general weathering and wear and tear.

The new steel benches (see pic) are in addition to a new brick stand for the use of barbecues and new metal bin for their safe disposal, so as to reduce the risk of fire and damage to the grass and surrounding areas.

We kindly ask that visitors respect the Meadow and reduce the risks of fire by never leaving barbecues unattended, not placing them on the grass, ensuring they are fully extinguished after use and either taking them home or disposing of them in the new bin provided; and by ensuring all other rubbish is placed in the other bins nearby or taken home.
