Parish Council Vacancies - Parish Clerk, Responsible Financial Officer (RFO)
Two vacancies have become available with the Parish Council.
Parish Clerk (20 hours per week): The Clerk is the Proper Officer to the Parish Council. The Clerk's responsibilities include producing agendas and minutes for all Council meetings and committees, liaising with outside bodies, actioning the Council's decisions, managing staff and organising events. The Clerk is responsible for the management of five staff (Assistant Clerk, Responsible Financial Officer, Office Apprentice, Village Warden and Grounds Worker).
Responsible Financial Officer (12 hours per week): The post holder will be responsible for the day to day financial management of the Council, including data inputting, monitoring and producing Management Accounts, preparing records for audit purposes and VAT, Debtor and Creditor ledgers, the budget setting process, preparing reports to present to the Council, raising and payment of invoices, payroll and pension administration including year-end and HMRC returns. The RFO will carry out all the statutory functions ensuring the implementation of, and compliance with the Council's financial regulations. They will work closely with the Clerk advising councillors on finance matters, insurance and risk management strategy.
