Duffield Remembrance Parade and Service - Sunday 9th November 2025

The annual Remembrance Parade is set to take place on the 9th November. Uniformed organisations will meet at the Weston Centre from 10:00am and set off along the Parade route at approx. 10:30am, with the Service of Remembrance at the War Memorial starting at approx. 10:50am. Keeping footpaths and pavements clear and accessible

A nicely trimmed hedge!

At this time of year we often receive complaints because pavements are difficult to safely use due to unmaintained hedges and hedgerows alongside.

Derbyshire County Council are the authority responsible for keeping roads and pavements clear and in good repair and it is possible to report issues with overgrown hedges on their website.

Dogs at Gray Recreation Ground

The Parish Council has recently received reports of dog owners at Gray Recreation Ground bringing their dogs into the children's play area.

Dogs must be kept outside of the fenced play area at all times, to help keep children safe and to keep dog waste out. Dogs are welcome to be walked in the grassed areas outside of the fenced play area, but must be kept on a lead at Gray Rec – should you wish...

Work at Eyes Meadow - tomorrow 3rd Oct 2025

Please be aware that there will be work taking place tomorrow, Friday 3rd October to create a new access footpath between the pedestrian entrance to the Meadow and the car park. The pedestrian access and car park will still be available but the work may restrict access slightly, our apologies for any inconvenience caused while the work is being carried out.

Applications now open for the role of Parish Councillor - closing date 31st Oct

Following the formal notice of Casual Vacancy published on 2nd September 2025, it was confirmed at the Full Council meeting on 24th September 2025 that there had been no request for a by-election.
