Duffield Parish Council Fireworks Display
Fri, 01 Nov 2019 18:30
The annual Duffield fireworks display will be held at Eyes Meadow on Friday 1st November. Don't miss it!
As in 2017, tickets will be in the form of wristbands, available by mid-October, from Town Street Chip Shop, Town Street Newsagents and Meadow Vale Convenience Store. Save time and money and buy your wristband ahead of time: you won't need to queue to pay at the gate and wristbands cost £2 in advance compared to £3 on the night (under-5s get in free).
In 2018 the Council invested in a bespoke brazier that will be lit in place of a bonfire, which had become problematic in recent years owing to large numbers of young people gathering around it after the event. The brazier is a continual remembrance of village residents who gave so much for Duffield.
Gates open at 6:30pm and the brazier will be lit at 7pm. The fireworks display will begin at 7:15pm and finish at around 7:45. There will be rides, sweets and light-up stalls for the kids, hot food available and the cricket club bar will be open.
Please note: Car parking is limited to Blue Badge holders only at this event. A torch is very useful as the approach roads are dark. Spectators' fireworks/sparklers are not permitted at the display. Finally, we would ask that all visitors leave the Meadow promptly after the fireworks are finished as we cannot be held responsible for anyone's safety once the event is over.
