Cllr Jan Thompson
Jan moved to Duffield in 1991 with her late husband Colin and her two sons. Jan has worked in several primary schools in Derby and Derbyshire as a teacher.
Jan's sons attended Duffield Meadows and Ecclesbourne schools and the family has participated in many activities in the village, including Duffield Dynamos Football Club, Cumberhills Women's Institute and Duffield Carnival. From 1994 -1998 Colin and Jan were Parish Councillors learning more about the history and community of Duffield. Colin rejoined the Parish Council in 2019 and was Chairman from 2019-20.
Jan's interests include a lifelong love of travel, enjoying wildlife and reading and discussing novels at book groups. Jan is an active member of the U3A in Belper.
