Age 12-17? Bored? Want something different to do on a Friday night?

Get yourself down Eyes Meadow.

That's where, between 6-8pm, Derby County Community Trust, alongside Duffield's sports clubs will be offering you a chance to try a variety of different sports activities.

It's more than just football - with Duffield's cricket, bowls, tennis and squash sports clubs getting involved, there'll be something for you to do - just turn up and play.

All the activities are FREE and aimed at complete beginners.

What's Sports@Eyes?

Sports@Eyes is a FREE weekly programme of sports and games for teens in Duffield, organised by Duffield Parish Council and run by volunteers from Derby County Community Trust.

The Parish Council have repeatedly been asked for more for young people to do in the village. We hope this programme will be a fun way to relieve holiday boredom on a Friday evening for teens, who might otherwise be at a loose end.

Where's it being held?

Eyes Meadow, Duffield.

When is it?

The sports sessions will be held every Friday between 6-8pm, starting Friday 4th August, and run for 6 weeks.

Can anyone go?

The sessions are open to young people aged between 12 and 17.

What sports are on offer?

Football, cricket, tennis, squash and bowls will be on offer and the emphasis will be on participants enjoying fun sessions for all. Not all the sports will be available on all the weeks (due to limited availability of the coaches over the holidays).

Who's organising the sessions?

The sessions are being run by volunteers from Derby County Community Trust with involvement from Duffield Dynamos and Duffield Cricket, Tennis, Squash and Bowls clubs. Massive, Duffield's Youth Club, will also be involved in the sessions.

I'm a sports coach and I'd like to get involved?

If you can help out in any way, or would like to know anything else about the sessions, please contact Kath Gruber, Duffield Parish Council on 01332 842740, (email clerk@duffieldparishcouncil.gov.uk).
